Strong earthquake of 6.5 degrees of magnitude vibration on the Richter scale struck the region on Thursday off the Solomon Islands, in the South Pacific, announced the American Geophysical Institute (USGS).
The initial measurement spoke vibration 7 degrees.
The earthquake was relatively shallow, with a depth of about 10 kilometers below the surface of the seabed, according to the USGS.
The epicenter is located at a distance of 155 km south-southwest of the settlement Ntantali in Solomon Islands.
Not issued immediate tsunami warning. No information on injuries.
