“Blow” from the activities in China received the profits of the Danone SA in the first half of the year, where the unit infant preparations affected by the food crisis.
Specifically, the net income fell to 416 million euros from 608 million in the same period last year.
However, sales in the second quarter rose by 4.5% to 5.9 billion euros from 5.4 bn over the same period last year, as part of the company’s expectations.
The French maker of Activia yogurt and Evian water said that economic conditions would “remain difficult and volatile in general”, but confirmed that the 2015 target for organic sales growth will be between 4% and 5%.
